All About Crash's Landing
Crash's Landing is a facility that takes stray cats off the streets of the Grand Rapids area and gives them a safe place to live. One of the most notable features of Crash's Landing is that they don't believe in euthanizing their cats. They keep the cats until they can find them a permanent home or a foster home. They do not take in kittens though because it could be dangerous for them to mingle with the older cats. Taking stray cats to the animal shelter is a perfectly fine choice, but if you feel strongly about saving the lifes of the cats and making sure that they won't be put down, it would be a good choice to take them to Crash's Landing.
Crash's Landing all started out when Dr. Jennifer Petrovich was brought a small eight week old kitten who had been hit by a car. The kitten's back legs were mangled and several of his ribs were broken. Dr. Petrovich was able to nurse him back to health and ended up naming him Crash. Crash is now the Petrovich family cat and can, miracuously, walk just fine. Crash helped Dr. Petrovich realize that there are all kinds of cats on the street that need help and so she created Crash's Landing.
I chose to create a web page on this cause because I feel like the people who created this safe haven for cats aren't getting enough attention. Most people have never heard of Crash's Landing. When someone finds a stray cat they often just take them to the animal shelter or possibly their local vet. If more people know about Crash's Landing then they could help support the people running the place. Hopefully they will be able to save more cat's lives then would be saved if taken to an animal shelter.
